Constance Sayre,
Principal of Market Partners
Constance has held a range of senior positions in trade
publishing. She started at Simon & Schuster, where
she eventually became Vice President and Subsidiary Rights
Director, a position she has also held at Holt, Rinehart
& Winston (now Henry Holt) and (NY) Times books. She
served as Director of Publicity, Promotion and Advertising
at Andre Deutsch in London and subsequently as Book Club
Editor for Time Life Book Clubs. She moved to Viking Penguin
as Vice President and Marketing Director and then Vice
President and Associate Publisher before leaving Viking
Penguin to launch Grove Weidenfeld.
Lorraine Shanley, Principal of Market
Partners
Lorraine began her career at Book-of-the-Month Club, helping
launch its Quality Paperback Book Club. She spent twelve
years at QPB and BOMC, where she became Executive Vice
President in charge of editorial, marketing, and merchandise.
She then started her own consulting company, Lorraine
Shanley Associates, whose clients included the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, United Media, Bantam Books, and Little,
Brown & Co. She returned to corporate life to become
Editorial Director of the trade division of Harper &
Row (now HarperCollins), but left to re-establish her
own firm, which was later merged into MPI.
Laura Hazard Owen
Editorial Manager of Publishing Trends, Laura received her B.A. in English and American Language and Literature from Harvard. She was previously an Assistant Editor at Skyhorse Publishing.
Meredith Sires
Editor of International Bestsellers, Meredith completed a B.A. in English at the University of California Berkeley. She has held internships in publicity at Berrett-Koehler and in editorial at Avalon.
Ariel
Aberg-Riger
Currently Online Editor of Publishing Trends, Ariel
has completed a B.A. in Philosophy from Smith College.
She specializes in information and presentation design, and has lived and worked in New York, Paris, Barcelona and Martha's Vineyard. |
