At Sourcebooks, Cat Onder joins as VP, Publisher, Children’s Books. Most recently she was SVP, Publisher at HMH Books and Media. Stephanie Beard, lately Executive Editor and Subsidiary Rights Director at Turner Publishing Company, joins as Associate Director of Rights and International Sales. Brittany Mmutle joins as Marketing Manager

Alison Goff joins Quarto as Group Chief Executive Officer. She was previously Chief Executive at Octopus. As previously announced, COO Ken Fund retires from the company on December 1.

Talia Krohn joins Little, Brown Spark as VP, Editorial Director on January 3. She was previously Executive Editor at Currency.

Director and Publisher Fiona McCrae has announced her retirement from Graywolf Press, effective June 2022. She has been with the press since 1994.

Paul Bogaards is also retiring, from his position as EVP, Publicity & Marketing, Deputy Publisher at Knopf, effective January 1. At Pantheon, author and professor David Treuer joins as Editor-at-Large. Matie Argiropoulos joins Penguin Random House Audio as Executive Producer; previously, she was Managing Editor at Macmillan Audio. Melissa Fariello joins Random House Children’s as Associate Production Manager, while Cynthia Lliguichuzhca joins as Associate Publicist. At Versify Books, Monica Perez will join as Editorial Director on November 29. Most recently she was Executive Editor at Charlesbridge. Rachel Kambury joins Harper Wave and Harper Business as Associate Editor. Previously she was Assistant Editor at Twelve.

In agency news…Lauren Bittrich joins Lucinda Literary as Literary Agent. Victoria Dillman joins Howland Literary as Associate Agent; she was previously Foreign Rights Associate at Sobel Weber Associates. At Lambda Literary, Sue Landers will step down as Executive Director on December 1. Maxwell Scales and Cleopatra Acquaye-Reynolds will join as Co-Interim Executive Directors while a successor is sought. Scales and Acquaye-Reynolds are both presently Co-Directors at The Audre Lorde Project.

DULY NOTED

Sourcebooks has purchased B.E.S. Publishing from Peterson’s Publishing, thus acquiring over 800 titles across children’s fiction and nonfiction and adult nonfiction. It is the company’s largest acquisition to date.

Independent Publishers Group’s Midpoint has added new clients: CS Media, effective January 1, 2022; CamCat Publishing, effective June 1, 2022; and Histria Books, effective July 1, 2022. Shanghai Press is now distributed by Midpoint. Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group will be distributed by IPG Digital beginning December 1.

The Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency will represent the estate of William Carlos Williams, including newly discovered and unpublished work.
