Mary Ann Naples will join as VP, Publisher for Hachette Books on April 22. She was previously VP, Publisher at Disney Book Group. At JIMMY Paterson Books, T.S. Ferguson, lately Editor at Harlequin Teen/Inkyard Press, joins as Editor. Joe Davidson, lately Editor at Rizzoli, joins Black Dog & Leventhal in the same position.

Annette Hobbs Magier joins IPG as VP, Marketing and Publicity. Most recently she was Director of Sales & Marketing at Albert Whitman & Company.

Mark Harrington has joined Abrams as Executive Director, National Accounts. He was formerly Senior National Accounts Manager at Hachette.

At Bloomsbury Children’s Books, Faye Bi, previously Publicity Manager at Holiday House Publishing, joins as Director of Publicity.

Domenica DiPiazza, Editorial Director, Twenty-First Century Books, has retired from Lerner Publishing Group.

In agency news…Maureen Moretti joins P.S. Literary Agency as Associate Agent. Tess Callero, formerly Associate Agent and Social Media Director at Curtis Brown, joins Europa Content as Agent. Pilar Queen, formerly Agent at McCormick Literary, joins the publishing department of United Talent Agency. At Booksparks PR, Keely Platte, formerly Principal at Keely Platte Public Relations, has joined as Publicity Director.

Anthony Cacace, lately Agent at Gotham Artists, has joined Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau as Lecture Agent, while Emily Varga joins as Coordinator.

Sasha Henriques, formerly Assistant Editor at JIMMY Patterson Books, joins Random House Children’s Books as Associate Editor. Whitney Aaronson has also rejoined that division as Senior Product Manager; she had been working as UX Product Manager at Simmons Insights. Rob Roglev, formerly Director of Interactive Media at DK, joins as Senior Developer, Digital Marketing.

At Scholastic, Katy Coyle rejoins as Marketing Operations Specialist, having worked most recently as Director of Corporate and Influencer Collaboration at Zhivago Partners. Hannah Frank, formerly Digital and Social Media Marketing Coordinator, joins as Social Media Assistant Manager. At Klutz, Meghan Templehof and Abha Dasgupta join as Designers; Templehof had previously worked freelance, while Dasgupta was Visual Designer and Illustrator at Abha Dasgupta Design. Anna Membrino, formerly Assistant Editor at Random House, joins Cartwheel and Orchard Books as Editor.

Kate Meltzer, previously Editor at Penguin Children’s, joins Roaring Brook Press in that capacity. Kirk Benshoff joins First Second as Art Director, a role he previously held at Scholastic. Additionally, Hannah Phillips joins St. Martin’s Press as Assistant Editor. She was previously Assistant Editor at Hachette Nashville.

Mary Duke, formerly Marketing Associate at HarperOne, joins Chronicle Books as Marketing Manager, Children’s.

At Abbeville Press, Colette Laroya joins as Marketing and Publicity Manager. Previously she was Editor and Publicity Manager at Hippocrene Books.

At Rowman & Littlefield, Carly Pryor joins as Designer and Corey Rickmers joins as Digital Engagement Manager.

 

PROMOTIONS

At Simon & Schuster, Jennifer Weidman has been promoted to SVP, Deputy General Counsel and Veronica Jordan has been promoted to EVP, General Counsel.

At Penguin Random House, Michael Gentile has been appointed VP, Education Sales and Marketing. Ashley McClay has been promoted to Associate Publisher, Director of Marketing at Putnam.

Brian McSharry is now VP, Sales Operations at Macmillan. Andie Anderson has been promoted to Senior Client Operations and Account Manager, while Jaime Bode becomes National Accounts Manager and both Kristen Bonanno and Eunice Pak become National Sales Account Coordinators. Jake Swirsky moves up to Sales Coordinator. Emily Day has become Library Marketing Coordinator, YA.

Cynthia Sherry is now Group Publisher of IPG’s in-house publishers, Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books, and Noah Amstadter moves up to Publisher for Triumph Books. Jeff Palicki has been named VP, Director of National Accounts for IPG’s distribution business. Elsewhere in the company, Salma Yaqubi is now Director of Data Management.

At McGraw-Hill, Donya Dickerson has become Associate Publisher of Business Books and Amy Li is now Associate Editor for the same category.

At Scholastic, Dan Moser moves up to Director of Field Sales and Special Markets and Jeremy West moves up to Coordinator of Global Licensing for Media and Brands. Jarad Waxman becomes Director of Library Sales, Direct and Wholesale at Scholastic Library Publishing. At Cartwheel and Orchard Books, Rachel Mason is now Assistant Editor.

At Melville House Publishing, Marina Drukman is now Creative Director and Alexandra Primiani is now Associate Director of Publicity.

Shaina Olmanson has been promoted to Associate Editorial Director, Twenty-First Century Books at Lerner Publishing Group.

Cassie Gutman becomes Senior Production Editor; Heather Hall, Associate Managing Editor; and Grace Menary-Winefield, Editor. Jennifer Sterkowitz moves up to Metadata Strategy Specialist. Mary Altman is now Senior Editor, Casablanca.

Kristin Lunghamer and Brittany Russell have both become PR Specialists at Amazon Publishing.

At Workman, Emily Weldon moves up to Associate Publicist.

Matt Garczynski has been promoted to Assistant Editor at Abbeville Press.

Laurie Hetzel has been named board president at the National Book Critics Circle. She is Senior Editor for Books at the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Arthur A. Levine, who departed Scholastic last month, has launched a new publishing company called Levine Querido in partnership with Dutch publisher Querido.
