Mauro DiPreta has joined the William Morrow Group as SVP, Executive Editor. Previously he was VP and Publisher at Hachette Book Group.

Lonely Planet has named Luis Cabrera its President and CEO. He joins from BCG Digital Ventures, where he was Partner.

Berrett-Koehler’s board of directors has selected David Marshall as the company’s new CEO and CFO and Joanna Vondeling as President and Publisher.

On February 26, Todd Berman is joining the Random House Sales Group as VP, Imprint Sales Director. He was most recently VP, Business Development & Publishing Strategy at Penguin Random House Publisher Services. At Penguin Random House, Katya Shannon is stepping down from her role as VP, Special Markets after thirty-nine years with the company. Hillary Brady, formerly Digital Content Specialist at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, is joining DK as Digital Marketing Manager. Kristina Fazzalaro joins Viking/Penguin as Senior Publicist. She was most recently Publicist at Hachette Book Group.

At Cengage, Bob Munro is EVP, CFO. He was previously CFO at Callcredit Information Group.

Rob Havers is now President and CEO at Pritzker Military Museum and Library. He was formerly President at the George C. Marshall Foundation.

Philip Himberg is the MacDowell Colony’s new Executive Director, succeeding Cheryl Young. He was previously Artistic Director for Sundance Institute’s theater program.

At Dreamscape Media, Cat Zappa joins as Executive Director of Content and Strategy. Most recently she was Sales Director at HarperCollins Christian Publishing.

At Apollo Publishers, Raquel Avila has joined as Director of Corporate Sales. She worked previously as Sales Director, Corporate and Author Services at BookPal LLC.

Kate Farquhar-Thomson will join Princeton University Press as Head of Publicity on March 4, having previously held that position at Oxford University Press.

At Open Up Resources, Stephanie Reierson, formerly Director of Acquisitions and Partnerships at Mackin Education Resources, joins as Director of Product Marketing.

Christopher Paul Carey joins Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. as Director of Publishing. Previously he was Senior Editor at Paizo, a publisher of roleplaying games.

At Albert Whitman & Company, Christina Pulles joins as Executive Editor, moving over from that position at Sterling Publishing, and Ann Demand joins as Marketing Manager.

In agency news…Veronica Park, previously Literary Agent and Marketing Specialist at Corvisiero Literary Agency, has joined Fuse Literary as Associate Agent. Kerstin Wolf joins D4EO Literary Agency as Agent, moving over from her prior role as Agent-in-Training at the Booker Albert Literary Agency. At the Transatlantic Agency, Brenna English-Loeb joins as Assistant Agent. And Simon Trewin has left William Morris Endeavor to begin his own agency, Simon Trewin Ltd.

Heidi Vincent is now Business Development and Sales Manager at Hopkins Sales Partners. Previously she was VP, Books Marketing at National Geographic.

In children’s news: Jennifer Murphy has joined the American Psychological Association’s Magination Press’s children’s books imprint as Assistant Marketing Manager. She had been Marketing Coordinator at Harper. Maryn Arreguin joins Sourcebooks as Children’s Art Director. She had previously been self-employed. At Scholastic, Amy Goppert, most recently Associate Publicist at Disney Publishing Worldwide, joins as Senior Publicist. Lauren Jackson joins as Brand Publicity Manager, moving over from her previous role as Senior Publicist at Tor/Forge. Anna Holbert, formerly Archives Cataloger at LAC Group, is now Associate Metadata Manager. Brittany Schachner, formerly Freelance Photo Researcher and Managing Editor, has joined the company as Trade Planner, Frontlist. Brittany Lowe has joined as Sales Coordinator, Special Markets. At Sterling Children’s Books, Eve Adler, lately Senior Editor at Penguin Random House, has joined as Senior Editor. Additionally, Katy Hershberger joins School Library Journal as Senior Editor, YA. She worked most recently as Social Media Manager and Bookseller at McNally Jackson Books.

Brett LoGiurato has joined Wharton Digital Press as Senior Editor. He was previously Executive Editor at Business Insider.

At Celadon, Anna Belle Hindenlang joins as Publicist.

Carrie Garland joins ICON Media Group as Graphic Designer.

Jennifer Civiletto has been promoted to Associate Director of Publishing at the Harper Group. At Harlequin, Emer Flounders has been promoted to Senior Publicity Manager, Hanover Square Press, Park Row Books, and MIRA.

At Sourcebooks, Heather Morris has been promoted to Associate Art Director, Adult Nonfiction.

Baker & Taylor Publisher Services has announced its newest clients. Effective January 1 are Parvus Press (US and Canada), and Management Impact Publishing (US, Canada, and international). Effective July 1 are Sweet Cherry Publishing (US and Canada, excluding mass merchandise), Flowerpot Children’s Press (US), Allison & Busby (US and Canada), and Beetle Books (US and Canada).
