Sara Domville will join America’s Test Kitchen on April 24 as Chief Revenue Officer. She was formerly President of F+W Media, which she left last July.

Bethany Buck is joining Bloomsbury Children’s as Editorial Director. She had formerly been Editorial Director at Skyhorse’s children’s imprint, Sky Pony Press.

At Hachette Audio, Tina McIntyre is now Senior Executive Director of Content Development; she previously managed marketing, digital publishing, and strategic planning for Little, Brown Children’s. Melissa Powers has joined as Associate Project Manager of Audio and Content Development and worked previously as Community Developer and Script Writer for Ubisoft Shanghai. In addition, Nita Basu has joined in the new role of Senior Marketing and Publicity Coordinator. She was previously Publicity and Marketing Associate at Diversion Books.  At Da Capo Press, Sharon Kunz has joined as Senior Publicist; she had been working as Media Engagement Manager at Globe Pequot.

Atria has announced that the Nashville, TN office of Howard Books will close, and multiple staff members are leaving as a result, including Jonathan Merkh, VP and Publisher. Other recent departures include VP, Director of Publicity and Marketing Jennifer Smith and Editor Lisa Stilwell. Similarly, following the closing of Tyrus Books (an imprint of the recently acquired Adams Media), founder and publisher Ben LeRoy is leaving Simon & Schuster.

David Pyle is joining F+W Media as General Manager of the fine arts, writing, and design group on April 24. He was previously Managing Director of Sales for the New Hope Networks.

Kathleen Quinlan has joined Crown Publishing Group as Marketing Manager, Crown Archetype and Three Rivers Press. She worked previously as Associate Market Manager at DK Publishing.

At the National Book Foundation, Sherrie Young has left her position as Director of Marketing and Special Projects.

At Maverick Publishing Specialists, Stephen Laverick has joined as Business Development Senior Associate and XML/Digital Workflow Specialist. He was previously Integration Manager at Edanz Editing.

At Chronicle Books, Eden Sugay has joined as Trade Show Coordinator. She was formerly Gift and Sales Support Representative at Ingram.

Sareeta Domingo is now Editor at Harlequin Medical Romance and Harlequin Romance. She was previously Editor at HotHouse Fiction.

Emily Angell has left her position as Editor at St. Martin’s Press.

At agencies…Chris Kepner has left his role as Agent and Director of International Rights at Victoria Sanders & Associates to launch The Kepner Agency. Foreign rights inquiries for Victoria Sanders may be directed to Jessica Spivey.

Cindy Hernandez has joined Grove Atlantic as Junior Designer.

At the New York Times, Concepcion de Leon will join as Digital Writer on Books, beginning April 24. She had been working freelance and, before that, as Editorial Assistant at Glamour Magazine. Julian Lucas will be Contributing Writer for the Books desk and will write about “”the way books intersect with issues of race, identity, digital culture and the news.” He is Associate Editor at Cabinet Magazine.

Quiera Hall has joined Open Road as Business Development Operations Associate. Olivia Mason has joined as Marketing Assistant.

At the American Academy of Pediatrics, Mark Voigt has joined as Director of Sales. He was previously EVP of Sales at IPG.

 

PROMOTIONS

At Crown Publishing Group, Julie Cepler has been promoted to VP, Director of Marketing, and adds oversight for Crown, Hogarth, Tim Duggan Books, and Broadway to her continuing work for Crown Archetype and Three Rivers Press. Roxanne Hiatt has been promoted to Assistant Marketing Manager. Ayelet Gruenspecht moves up to Director of Marketing for Crown Business, Crown Forum, and Convergent. Megan Perritt is now Director of Publicity for those three imprints, and Megan Schumann has been promoted to Publicity Manager, while Owen Haney has been promoted to Publicist. Emma Berry is now Editor.

Alexis Welby has added the title of Vice President to her existing role as Director of Publicity at Putnam. Christina Foxley has been promoted to Associate Director of Marketing for Harmony, while Carly Gorga moves up to Associate Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Clarkson Potter. At Penguin Press, both William Heyward and Christopher Richards have been promoted to Editor. Kaushik Viswanath has been promoted to Associate Editor at Portfolio/Sentinel.

Kate Travers has been promoted to Executive Director, Digital Operations at Workman Publishing.

At National Geographic, Lisa Thomas has been promoted to Publisher and Editorial Director, Adult.

Megan Fitzpatrick has been promoted to Senior Director of Marketing and Publicity at Hachette Audio and will work on both audio and content development. Mishell Velez is now Audio Coordinator.

At Basic Books, Betsy DeJesu has been promoted to Director of Publicity and Marketing.

At agencies…Brent Taylor has been promoted to Agent, and Laura Crockett to Associate Agent, at TriadaUS.

Renata Sweeney moves up to Associate Marketing Manager at Open Road Integrated Media, while Greta Shull and Paola Crespo are now both Marketing Associate, and Daniel O’Connor is now Marketing Coordinator. Additionally, Mauricio Diaz has been promoted to Art Director and Amanda Shaffer to Designer. Matthew Thompson has been promoted to Executive Editor of Branded Funnel Sites and Carolyn Cox has been promoted to Senior Editor of Branded Funnel Sites.

Kelly Lawler is now Associate Creative Director at Sourcebooks, and Brittany Vibbert is now Art Director.

Katie Raissian has been promoted to Editor at Grove Atlantic, while Allison Malecha has been promoted to Associate Editor. Zachary Pace and Nicole Nyhan have both been promoted to Assistant Editor. Gretchen Mergenthaler has been promoted to Art Director.

At Atria Books, Daniella Wexler has been promoted to Editor.

At Alloy Entertainment, Hayley Wagreich has been promoted to Editor.

Matt Baugher, formerly VP, Publisher for the W Publishing Group, will assume the newly-created role of Senior VP of Author and Partnership Development. Beth Ryan has been promoted to Senior Director of Sales for Ministry Services. Daisy Blackwell Hutton moves up to VP, Publisher for the W Publishing Group.  Amanda Bostic becomes the new publisher for HCCP’s fiction program.

Nicola Caws has been promoted to Associate Editor for Harlequin Historical, moving over from Harlequin Presents.

Andrea Hall has been promoted to Associate Editor at Albert Whitman.

In scouting news, Baker Literary Scouting has been appointed US scout for Beijing MediaTime in China for adult fiction and nonfiction. Alanna Feldman Scouting has been appointed US scout for both Sonatine and Cherche Midi in France and for Harper Italy.

Diamond Comic Distributors has assumed exclusive worldwide sales and distribution for Heavy Metal Media in comic shop and book markets for graphic novels, trade paperback, and hardcover book publications. In addition, Diamond will continue to distribute Heavy Metal magazine’s bimonthly issues to comic shops and specialty stores.
