Walter Weintz has joined Guinness World Records as VP, Publishing Sales, Americas. He previously worked as Chief Sales Officer at Workman.

David Young, former CEO of Orion and Hachette Book Group USA, will become Chairman of Canongate Books in January. He is taking over from Christopher Bland, who is retiring.

Sienna Farris is joining Simon & Schuster as VP, Director of Digital Marketing. She was previously Global Executive Director of Corporate Social Marketing at The Estée Lauder Companies. Krista Vitola has joined Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers as Senior Editor. She was previously Editor at Delacorte Press. At Simon Pulse, Jessica Smith has joined as Editorial Assistant.

At St. Martin’s Press, Adam Bellow joined as Editorial Director for a to-be-named imprint of books about politics and current affairs. The imprint will publish across the political spectrum but focus on conservative voices. Bellow was previously Editorial Director at Broadside Books. Libby Burton is joining Henry Holt as Senior Editor, having previously worked as Editor at Twelve and Grand Central. At Macmillan Children’s, Amanda Mustafic joined as Publicist. She was previously Associate Publicist at Penguin Young Readers. Gaby Salpeter has joined as Marketing Coordinator. She had been working as Web Manager and Events Coordinator at Books of Wonder.

Alison Klooster and Tony Forde are now Senior Publicists at Viking and Penguin Books. Klooster was previously Publicist at Henry Holt, and Forde was Publicist at Public Affairs/Nation Books. At Random House Children’s, Emily Bamford is now Associate Publicist. She was previously Associate Publicist at Atria. Kristin Vogt and Jena Debois have joined as Marketing Assistants. Robby Imfeld has joined the licensed & proprietary brand marketing team as Associate Marketing Manager. He previously worked as Brand Marketing Associate at Abrams.

Peter Joseph is joining Harlequin as Editorial Director and will oversee the launch of a new, unnamed imprint. He was previously at Thomas Dunne Books for twelve years, most recently as Executive Editor…Stacey Fischkelta has joined HarperCollins as Manager of Editorial Services. She worked previously as Senior Production Editor at Skyhorse. Gina DeCagna has joined as Assistant of Editorial Services. She previously worked as Digital Communications and Marketing Assistant at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.

At Little, Brown, Emma Cueto has joined as Publicity Assistant. She previously worked for Bustle and wrote articles for its Books and Lifestyle verticals.

At agencies…Michael Caligaris has joined Holloway Literary as Literary Agent. He is co-founder of The East Bay Review and previously worked as Publications Assistant for PLOS ONE. Jamie Vankirk has also joined as Associate Agent. She was previously Literary Assistant and Office Manager at Liza Dawson Associates. At Loiacono Literary Agency, Linda Kasten has joined as Literary Agent.

Allison Janice joined Rodale Books as Editor. She was previously Associate Editor at Berkley.

Heather Morris has joined Sourcebooks as Senior Designer. She was previously Art Director at Ball Horticultural Company. Sarah Kasman has joined as Editorial Assistant for Jabberwocky and Fire.

Matt Rohal has joined Princeton University Press as Assistant Editor. He was previously Assistant Editor at Oxford University Press.

At Cambridge University Press, Tim Hoey has joined as Library Sales Representative for New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

At Anthology Editions, Casey Whalen has joined as Director of Sales. She had been working as Sales Manager at Kikkerland. Jesse Pollock, founder and of Unpiano Books, has joined Anthology Editions as Senior Project Manager. In addition to his work as publisher, he had also worked as Manager, Digital & Emerging Media at USA Network and NBCUniversal.

At Insight Editions, Katrin Hagerty has joined as Foreign Rights Manager. She previously worked as German Copywriter for Gap Inc. Alison Corn has joined as Assistant Design Manager.

At Stanford University Press, Stephanie Adams has joined as Marketing Manager; Kate Templar as Sales and Exhibits Manager; Ryan Furtkamp as Publicist; Kendra Schynert as Marketing and Publicity Assistant; and Linnie Green as Marketing and Sales Assistant. Steven Smith, formerly Editorial Director of Casemate Publishers, is now Editorial Director at military and historical publisher Savas Beatie.

Radhika Jones has joined the New York Times as Editorial Director, Books. She was previously Deputy Managing Editor at Time Magazine. Jones will oversee all review coverage and work on features, news, and digital strategy.

Meredith Burks has joined Redleaf Press as Marketing Copywriter and Publicity Specialist. She previously worked as Publicity Manager at Viking and Penguin Books.

Amy Li has joined McGraw-Hill as Editorial Assistant.

Sally Marvin has been appointed Senior VP, Director, Special Events and Partnerships for the Random House Publishing Group, replacing Kate Childs. Childs is leaving to join CAA as an executive in the book publishing department. Patricia Flynn is now Senior Director, Copyrights and Licensing in Penguin Random House’s now-unified copyrights department, and Jeffery Corrick is now Director, Permissions for all of Penguin Random House. At Penguin Random House Audio, Catherine Bucaria has been promoted to Senior Acquisitions Editor; Emily Parliman has been promoted to Editor, Listening Library; Megan Mills has been promoted to Assistant Acquisitions Editor; and Renee Watson has been promoted to Coordinator, Digital Operations. Maria Braeckel has been promoted to Director of Publicity for Random House, Spiegel & Grau, and The Dial Press. Zea Moscone has been promoted to Publicity Manager at Little, Brown and will handle all cookbooks and lifestyle titles remotely from San Francisco. Andy Ball has been promoted to Director, Managing Editorial, for Little, Brown Children’s, Orbit, Redhook, and Yen Press. At Orbit, Brit Hvide and Lindsey Hall have both been promoted to Editor.

At the W Publishing Group, Meaghan Porter has been promoted to Senior Editor.

ReaderLink has acquired the former Reader’s Digest Children’s Publishing, which has been operating as Studio Fun International. Their list will be merged into ReaderLink’s Printers Row Publishing Group and group of imprints.

Ingram Academic Services has signed print and digital sales and distribution agreements with Stanford University Press and the University of Ottawa Press.

Simon & Schuster will handle sales and distribution for video game developer Ubisoft’s new in-house publishing division, which is launching on November 15 with three Assassin’s Creed tie-in novels.
